1. The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect his live and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 14.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioiner submits that a murderous assault had been made upon the petitioner by respondents No.4 to 10 and in respect of which the petitioner lodged FIR No.0037, dated 26.3.2023 at Police Station Ajnala, under Sections 307, 452, 506, 148, 149 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act (Annexure P-1). It has been submitted that ever since lodging of the aforesaid FIR, the private respondents have been threatening the petitioner to effect a compromise and in order to pressurize him had even PANKAJ KAKKAR 2023.06.02 16:04 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document
CRWP-5584-2023 (O&M) ( 2 ) 2023:PHHC:081114 attacked him on 3-4 occasions and in respect of which the petitioner had made representation to the police but to no avail.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner but without commenting anything as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural to look into the matter and to get the representation dated 15.5.2023 (Annexure P-2) examined qua the alleged threat perception of the petitioner in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is any genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioner or to other members of his family, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioner or to other members of his family.
