  He thus, at this stage, on instructions, submits that the petitioners are satisfied of it being considered in a positive manner, in case, a direction is given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner by granting them an opportunity of hearing.

Learned counsel for respondent No.4 submits that a letter seeking advice regarding the above, has already been addressed by the said respondent to respondent No.2-Director, Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab vide letter No.459 dated 03.10.2016, however, the same has not been responded to. CWP-10822-2016" # $$ 4. Learned State counsel on instructions submits that the advice as sought by the aforesaid, shall be rendered to Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Maur Mandi Road, Rampura Phul, District Bathinda within a period of 2 months.

In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.4 to decide the claim of the petitioners, within a further period of 2 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to them and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to their interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioners shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon.
