SUVIR SEHGAL, J. (Oral) The Court has been convened through video conferencing due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Prayer in the petition is for directing the official respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondents No.4 to 6.

Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 3 only, at this stage. On the asking of the Court, Ms.Vasundra Dalal Anand, APP for U.T.Chandigarh, who is available on conference call, accepts notice on their behalf. Upon instructions from ASI Akhtar Hussain, she submits that age of the petitioners as well as their marriage have been verified. Vishali Rani and Baljit Singh, the petitioners before this Court, claim themselves to be major. CRWP No.7454 of 2020 {2} against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 6 and seek protection of their life and liberty. They apprehend danger from respondents No.4 to 6. They have placed on record marriage certificate and photographs, Annexures P-3 and P-4, respectively evidencing their marriage. The petitioners have submitted a representation, Annexure P-5 to Senior Superintendent of Police, U.T.Chandigarh.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, the petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioners, Annexure P-5 and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them.
