(ORAL) The petitioners have filed present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect their life and liberty from the danger at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 16.

Despite the case having been called twice, none has put in appearance on behalf of the petitioners.

Perusal of the file shows that for the last four dates i.e. 29.10.2020, 22.01.2021, 15.03.2021 and 16.07.2021, none had put in appearance on behalf of the petitioners. Therefore, it can safely be presumed that the petitioners or their counsel are no more interested in pursuing the instant petition.

More so, as per short reply dated 18.11.2020, filed by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Faridkot, District RISHU KATARIA 2021.11.22 10:32 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP-7441-2020 -2Faridkot, both the petitioners have filed their affidavits dated 13.10.2020 Annexures R-1/T and R-2/T, respectively, stating therein that they have no threat to their life and liberty from the side of private respondents and wanted no further action on their complaint/representation. Private respondents No. 4 and 5 parents of petitioner No. 2-Anjali and respondents No. 7, 8, 15 and 16 parents of petitioner No. 1-Jyoti, in their separate joint statements dated 09.10.2020, have also stated that they have no grudge against their daughters (petitioners herein) who started living together in live-in relationship.
