IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA

AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-26568-2019 Date of Decision: 28.07.2022 Nafish Ahmad and others ......... Petitioners

Versus

State of Haryana and others ......... Respondents

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANOOP CHITKARA Present:- None for the petitioners.

Mr. Rajat Gautam, D.A.G., Haryana.

Mr. Yogesh Goel, Advocate for respondents No. 3 and 4.

**** ANOOP CHITKARA, J. (ORAL) Learned State counsel submits that given the Rule 27.39 of Punjab Police Rules, applicable to the State of Haryana, the prayer of the petitioners could not have been given effect to. Furthermore, there cannot be any threat to life and liberty because the petition was filed way back in the year 2019 and in case there was any apprehension of threat subsisting then the petitioners would have contacted the concerned SP/SHO/Police Officials or must have filed a fresh application before this Court citing urgency. Consequently, the contentions of learned State counsel are believable and as such, it is accepted.

Even the petitioners have not appeared which shows that the petitioners are not interested to pursue with the present matter any further. Given above, the present petition is disposed of having been rendered infructuous.
