Petitioner (Sukhrajveer Singh) has filed this petition, inter alia, praying for grant of emergency medical parole to his uncle (Chacha), namely Baljinder Singh, for a period of four weeks under Section 3(1)(d) of the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners Temporary Release Act, 1962. 2.

Upon issuance of notice of motion, learned State counsel had appeared and sought time to verify the averments in petition. Today, a reply by way of affidavit dated 06.06.2024 of Mr. Shivraj Singh Nandgarh, P.P.S., Superintendent, Central Jail, Ludhiana has been filed in Court, which is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. A copy thereof is also handed

 over to learned counsel for the petitioner, in Court today itself. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner's uncle Baljinder Singh has been convicted in case bearing FIR No.78 dated 28.07.1999, under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, registered at Police Station Garhshanker, District Hoshiarpur. It is submitted that the said Baljinder Singh had earlier suffered a paralysis attack in the year 2016 and on 20.05.2024, he suddenly became unconscious and was got admitted by the jail authorities at Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, from where he was referred to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, where he is currently admitted in the I.C.U. Ward and is stated to be on life support. 3.1 Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had filed representation dated 26.05.2024 (Annexure P-2) before the Jail Superintendent, Central Jail, Ludhiana (respondent No.2 herein) seeking emergency parole on medical grounds for his uncle Baljinder Singh, however, no final decision has been taken thereupon, so far. 3.2 Learned counsel for the petitioner states that      "

In view of above, without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2/competent authority to consider representation dated &)*+&*&, '
