1. The petitioner seeks grant of regular bail in a case registered against her vide FIR No.128 dated 13.8.2020 under Section 506 IPC and Section 3(1)(r)/3(1) (s) of S.C./S.T. Act at Police Station Mehta, District Amritsar.

2. The FIR in question was lodged at the instance of Dalbir Kaur wherein it has been alleged that depot holder of her village namely Amrik Singh was committing irregularities and was misappropriating wheat and pulses provided by the Government and was distributing less wheat to the beneficiaries. It is alleged that the complainant had earlier highlighted the said irregularities and pursuant to which huge amount of wheat was recovered from the house of aforesaid Amrik Singh and that at that time Sarpanch of the village namely Partap Singh and some of his associates were KAMAL KUMAR 2020.09.25 18:54 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-29042-2020(O&M) also present and they pushed out the complainant from his house and Amrik Singh's wife namely Harjit Kaur had uttered objectionable racial abuses.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that she has falsely been implicated in the present case and that in any case since the petitioner has been behind bars since 16.9.2020 and nothing is to be recovered from her, her further detention will not serve any useful purpose.

4. Opposing the petition, the learned State counsel has submitted that since serious allegations have been levelled against the petitioner, no case for grant of bail is made out.

5. I have considered rival submissions addressed before this Court.

6. Bearing in mind the nature of allegations and the fact that the petitioner has been behind bars since the last ten days and also that the petitioner is a lady, her further detention will not serve any useful purpose.

7.
