The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Karnal vide order dated 27.08.2015 (P6) has fully justified reservation of the post of Sarpanch of the petitioner's village Faijalpur Majra, Tehsil Gharaunda, District Karnal on the ground that as per the report of the District Census Officer dated 24.07.2015, the Scheduled Caste population of the village which was 60 in the year 2001 has now increased to 287. He has also referred to the Government notification which inter alia provides rotation-wise reservation of the post of Sarpanch/Panches in Gram Panchayat. It is the petitioner's own case that the post of Sarpanch in his village has never been reserved for Scheduled Caste community since 1994 to 2010 or thereafter. (2)
In this view of the matter, we find no justification to interfere with the decision taken by the competent authority to reserve the post of Sarpanch of the afore-mentioned village. (3)
