This is petition for grant of regular bail pending trial in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 1 dated 02.01.2018, registered under Section 21 & 29 of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (hereinafter referred to as "the 1985 Act") at Police Station Rahon, District S.B.S. Nagar (Nawan Shahar).

As per the case of the prosecution, the petitioner was found in conscious possession of 400 grams of heroin, whereas his co-accused was found in possession of 600 grams of heroin.

Ms. Samina Dhir, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab has informed this Court that the petitioner is a previous convict and all the prosecution witnesses have already been examined during the trial of the case.

Criminal Misc. No. M- 29111 of 2020 Mr. Sekhon has submitted that keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the trial Court should be directed to conclude the trial of the case within a specified time. He submits that the petitioner is ready to appear before the trial Court through video conferencing and lead defence evidence. Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the trial Court is directed to expeditiously dispose of the case, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. With the aforesaid observations, the present petition is disposed of.
