(ORAL) At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks the permission to withdraw the instant petition, while submitting that the petitioner would be moving a fresh representation to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Pathankot, exclusively praying therein for the protection of his own as well as his family members' lives and liberty. He further prays that the said respondent be directed to take appropriate action on the said representation of the petitioner within some specific time frame. Ms. Samina Dhir, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 in this case in pursuance to the copies of this petition having been sent to the respondent-State in advance, has no objection to the above-said submission as well as prayer of learned counsel for the petitioner. been withdrawn, with the observations that in case, the petitioner moves any fresh representation to respondent No.2 specifically restricting his prayer therein to the protection of his own as well as his family members' lives and liberty only, then the said respondent shall look into the same and if the petitioner as well as his family members would be found to be genuinely deserving the protection of their lives and liberty, then he would take appropriate action strictly in accordance with law, in the given set of facts and circumstances of the matter, preferably within a period of ten days.
