* * * * RAVI SHANKER JHA, C.J. (ORAL) Respondent No. 1 - State of Punjab has filed a reply which is taken on record. In paragraph 9 thereof, it is stated that inadvertently the petitioner was removed as a Member of the Punjab Waqf Board without affording him an opportunity of being heard. The competent authority has decided to withdraw the impugned notification dated 12.08.2021. However, the complaint received against the petitioner shall be dealt with separately after affording him an opportunity of hearing.

In view of the aforesaid statement made in the reply filed by the respondent No. 1 - State of Punjab, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petition has been rendered infructuous as the relief prayed for has already been granted.

In the circumstances and in view of the statement made by learned counsel for the parties, the petition is disposed of as infructuous with liberty to the petitioner to approach this Court if any further cause of action survives or arises.
