The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside/modification of award dated 10.04.2021 (Annexure P-2) passed by National Lok Adalat-cum-Civil Judge (Junior Division) Faridabad to the extent it has to be registered under Registration Act, 1908 (for short "1908 Act"). He is further seeking directions to respondents No. 2 and 3 to register aforesaid award without stamp duty.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is ready to deposit stamp duty, thus, award passed by National Lok Adalatcum-Civil Judge (Junior Division) Faridabad may be registered. PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2026.05.26 04:09 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Learned State counsel submits that limitation period prescribed under 1908 Act has passed away, thus, award cannot be registered at this stage.

On being confronted with order dated 21.05.2026 passed by this Court in CWP No. 11321 of 2026, titled as "Vishwajit Mitra vs. State of Haryana and another", learned State counsel expressed his inability to controvert applicability of said order to present case. 5.

The petitioner has waived off his prayer qua modification of award and has confined his prayer to the extent of direction to respondent to register said award under 1908 Act. Case of petitioner is squarely covered by order dated 21.05.2026 passed by this Court in Vishwajit Mitra (Supra).

In the backdrop, the petition deserves to be allowed and accordingly allowed. The Sub-Registrar, Faridabad is hereby directed to register aforesaid award within four weeks from today, however, subject to payment of stamp duty.
