The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of appropriate writ, order or direction directing respondents No.1 to 3 to ensure protection of the life and personal liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8, particularly in view of the recent incident wherein the petitioner was assaulted, criminally intimidated, harassed and tried to be forcibly dispossessed her from her land measuring 05 marlas and 03 sarsai, by respondents No.4 to 8, coupled with the complete inaction on the part of the police officials of Police Station Begowal. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that for redressal of her grievance, the petitioner has already filed representation dated 24.04.2026 (Annexure P-6) before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala, however, no action has been taken on the same till date. Notice of motion to the official respondents. 4.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Sahil Chowdhary, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. 5.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case and in view of the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Kapurthala, to decide the representation dated 24.04.2026 (Annexure P-6) filed by the petitioner, qua threat perception in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner, is perceived.

It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by her.
