The present petition has been filed by the petitioner-Rice Mills who have executed separate agreements with respondent No.1, i.e., Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation Limited whereby they undertook milling of paddy.

The grievance of the petitioners in the present case is that the amounts towards milling charges, security charges and interest have not been released to them. All the petitioners in the present case have sent separate representations in this regard to respondent No.1, but no action has been taken thereon. Some of the representations have been attached with the present petition as Annexures P/6 to P/9. Learned counsel for the petitioners relies upon the orders passed by this Court in CWP Nos.9569 and 9570 of 2020 decided on 13.07.2020 whereby similar matters have been disposed off. Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that he would be satisfied at this stage if the present petition is disposed off on the limited prayer that the various representations made by the petitioners be directed to be decided in a time-bound manner. CWP No.15240 of 2020 - 2 - In view of the above and the fact that the present petition is not being disposed off on merits, I do not deem it necessary to issue notice to the respondents. However, Mr. Sunish Bindlish, Advocate has put in appearance through video conferencing on behalf of respondent No.7-FCI. He states that no relief has been claimed against respondent No.7 in the present petition.

The present writ petition is, accordingly, disposed off with a direction to respondent No.1 - Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation Limited - to consider the representations made by the petitioners in accordance with law and if any amount is found payable to the petitioners, the same be released within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
