1!2 !"  is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of Certiorari for quashing Advertisement No.13/2024 dated 16.08.2024 (Annexure P-6), whereby the respondents have invited applications from eligible candidates for filling up the posts of Male Sub Inspector (General Duty) (Category No. 40).

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that although the advertisement was issued in the year 2024, the respondents have not initiated the selection process even after a lapse of almost one year and seven months. He further submits that subsequent to the issuance of the said advertisement, the petitioner has qualified the Common Eligibility Test (CET). Therefore, in view of the inordinate delay in initiating the selection process, a fresh notice ought to be issued, enabling the petitioner, along with other candidates who have qualified the CET, to be considered.  upon the judgment of Hon'ble the Supreme Court in Chandgi Ram vs. University of Rajasthan, 2001 (10) SCC 556 and the judgment passed by the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court in CWP No. 22762 of 2015 titled as Balpreet Singh and another vs. Chandigarh Administration and others, decided on 17.02.2016.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that he will be satisfied, if a direction is given to respondent No.3 to decide the representation dated 22.04.2026 (Annexure P-9) submitted by the petitioner in a time-bound manner.
