(ORAL) The instant writ petition was filed seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus to be issued to the respondent to take a final decision on the representation that had been filed by the petitioner. The petitioner herein sought premature retirement vide letter dated 15.04.2011. Thereafter, on the basis of the said request he was retired from the same date. The petitioner submitted representation dated 01.06.2011, with a request for withdrawal of his request for premature retirement. The matter was referred to the Financial Commissioner and was pending consideration since 12.12.2012, as no decision was taken thereon the instant writ petition came to be filed.
Notice of motion was issued in the writ petition. Mr. Pankaj Mulwani, learned DAG, Punjab appearing on behalf of the respondent-State, on instructions from Inderjit Singh, Senior Assistant, O/o FCR, Punjab, submits that during the pendency of the writ petition, representation of the petitioner has been decided by passing a Satyawan 2017.02.20 16:37 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh

In view of the fact that the representation stands decided, the instant writ petition has been dismissed as having been rendered infructuous leaving the petitioner to take appropriate remedies available to him in accordance with law.
