The present petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India has been filed for issuance of an appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No.2 to regularize the services of the petitioner in view of the instructions issued by the State of Punjab vide letter dated 18.03.2011 (Annexure P-2). Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner, who has put in more than 22 years of service, had also submitted a representation dated 12.11.2020 (Annexure P-5) requesting for regularisation of his services. However, till date, no action has been taken on the same. The learned counsel would further contend that respondent No.3, vide letter Annexure P-1, had recommended the case of the petitioner for regularisation.

CWP No.16478 of 2021 -2Learned counsel for the petitioner further states that at this stage he limits his prayer and would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide the said representation dated 12.11.2020 (Annexure P-5) in a time-bound manner.

In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and keeping in view the fact that the matter is not being decided on merits, the service of notices upon respondent Nos.2 and 3 is dispensed with at this stage.

Without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 to take a decision on the representation dated 12.11.2020 (Annexure P-5) in accordance with law expeditiously and, in any case, within a period of three months from the receipt of a certified copy of this order. Disposed off accordingly.
