MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to respondents No.1 to 3, to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and her family members at the hands of respondents No.4 to 9. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, who is a 77 year old lady, is embroiled in a civil suit with the private respondents with respect to the land, on which she is presently living. It has been contended that there is a stay in operation in her favour by the Civil Court concerned, which is the reason behind the private respondents extending continuous threats of dire consequences to her; on 07.04.2025, at about 8:40 AM, she was attacked by respondents No.4 and 5, as a result of which she sustained injuries and was then medico legally examined at the Civil Hospital Garhshankar. It has been further submitted that even though a representation dated 30.04.2025 (Annexure P-3) has been given in the aforementioned regard to respondent No.2, however, no action has been initiated against the PUNEET SACHDEVA 2025.05.16 14:48 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP-5008-2025 -2private respondents and all her pleas to the official respondent have been in vain. In support, learned counsel has also drawn the attention of this Court to the injury sustained by the petitioner, which are visible in the pictures annexed as Annexure P-1.

After arguing for some time, learned counsel submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, is directed to look into her representation at the earliest and take appropriate steps so that the life and liberty of the petitioner is protected at the hands of the private respondents.

On asking of the Court, Mr. H.S. Deol, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, to look into the representation dated 30.04.2025 (Annexure P-3) qua the alleged threat perception and take necessary steps, as may be required, in accordance with law, at the earliest, to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioner is not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents.
