***** KARAMJIT SINGH , J. (Oral) The counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.2 is divorcee as is evident from Annexure P-5. He further submits that petitioners got married on 16.7.2022 against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 8, who are relatives of petitioner No.1. The counsel further contends that the aforesaid privates respondents are extending threats to the petitioners and in this regard representation dated 18.7.2022 (Annexdure P-4) has arleady given to the police authorities, but the authorities failed to take any action.

( 2 ) CRWP-6952-2022 Ms. Samina Dhir, DAG, accepts notice on behalf of the State of Punjab. She submits that the concerned authority will look into the matter and take decision on the representation of the petitioners in accordance with law.

In view of above, without going into merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to consider representation (Annexure P-4) and to provide appropriate protection to the petitioners if so warranted. However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the validity of the marriage of the petitioners.

In case the petitioners have committed any offence, the law will take its own course.
