(Oral) The petitioner is aggrieved at the communication dated 18.11.2014 whereby his claim for appointment to Punjab Civil Services (Judicial Branch) has been rejected on the ground that he obtained a total of 474 marks out of 1000 which were less than 50% marks in aggregate of written examination and viva-voce. While rejecting the claim, the Selection Committee of the High Court has relied upon a Full Bench judgment of this Court dated 23.01.2014 rendered in Jarnail Singh etc. versus State of Punjab etc. wherein decision of the High Court not to appoint the candidates who were having less than 50% marks in aggregate in written examination and viva-voce, was approved having regard to efficiency and quality of decision making responsibility entrusted to the judiciary. In the light of the above-cited decision, no exception could be taken to the communication conveyed to the petitioner. The writ petition stands dismissed.
