G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioner claims equivalent pay scale as given to Classical and Vernacular Teachers on the strength of the judgment passed by this Court in Gokal Deep Mehta and others vs. State of Punjab and others, 1992 (3) RSJJ 766.

Counsel submits that the petitioner was appointed as a Sewing Teacher in the grade pay of `1200-2100 in the primary grade of `1200 plus necessary allowances (Annexure P-1). It is submitted that the petitioner has filed a representation dated 18.10.2015 (Annexure P-4) with the respondent no. 2 for the necessary relief and decision on the same is pending and he would be satisfied if a time bound direction is issued to the said respondent to decide the same. It is further submitted that benefits have been granted to others who have approached this Court but the same has not been done in the case of the petitioner.

CWP No. 1215 of 2016 Keeping in view the limited relief sought, this Court is of the opinion that there is no need for the respondents to file reply. Accordingly, without commenting on the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to decide the representation dated 18.10.2015 (Annexure P-4) within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. In case the financial benefits are found to be due, the same be paid within a period of 2 months thereafter. Needless to say if the relief is to be denied, a reasoned order be passed and conveyed to the petitioner. 21.01.2016 (G.S.
