CORAM:- HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURINDER GUPTA

******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.

This Criminal Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of Constitution of India for premature release of petitioner as required under the Premature Release Policy issued by the State of Haryana from time to time alleging that the petitioner has completed 22 years, 04 months, 16 days total sentence with remission. Heard.

Learned State counsel submits that petitioner is a hardcore criminal. He has committed several jail offences and was also involved in 15 other cases relating to murder, cases under the Arms Act, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and for theft and extortion. He jumped parole thrice and was declared proclaimed offender. As per the Government Policy of 1993, his case is to be considered for premature release after 14 Sachin Mehta 2017.11.16 10:23 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH

CRWP-1009-2017 -2years of actual sentence and total sentence of 20 years including remissions. By now, he has completed about 17 and half years of imprisonment including remissions, as such, is not entitled to premature release. On perusal of the paper-book and keeping in view the submission of learned State counsel, I find that case of the petitioner for premature release will become mature after completion of his 20 years of imprisonment including remissions.

This petition has no merits. Dismissed.
