(ORAL) The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for issuance of a direction to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner as the same is under threat from unknown police officials/people posing as police officials.

Notices served upon the official respondents through the State's counsel. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied in case directions may be issued to respondent No. 2 to decide the representation dated 28.06.2022 (Annexure P-1) in a time bound manner. The prayer being innocuous is not opposed by the learned State counsel. Given above, the present petition is disposed of by issuing direction to respondent No. 2-Director General of Police, Punjab to decide representation dated 28.06.2022 (Annexure P-1) himself or authorizing any officer not below the rank of Commissioner of Police by passing a speaking and reasoned order within ten working days from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. In case, the grievance of the petitioner still exists, he shall be at liberty to avail legal remedy in accordance with law including approaching this Court.
