Petitioner No.1-Muskan aged 18 years and petitioner No.2-Rinku aged 20 years have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions for protection of their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 8, who are relatives of petitioner No.1.

Learned counsel for the petitionets submits that the petitioners are in love with each other and intend to marry after petitioner No.2 attains marriageable age. It has been submitted that the said proposal of marriage is, however, not acceptable to the relatives of petitioner No.1 and who are all out to cause harm to the petitioners. It has been submitted that consequently the petitioners are presently living in a 'live-in' relationship but they apprehend threat to their lives and liberty at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 8. ( 2 ) CRWP-8058-2021 (O&M) It has further been submitted that although representation dated 22.8.2021 (Annexure P-5) was moved to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Kurukshetra, District Kurukshetra (Haryana) but to no avail. 3.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting as regards the sanctity of alleged relationship of the petitioners, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Kurukshetra, District Kurukshetra (Haryana) to look into the matter and to dispose of the representation dated 22.8.2021 (Annexure P-5) in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is a genuine threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners.

A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 22.8.2021 (Annexure P-5) be sent to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Kurukshetra, District Kurukshetra (Haryana) so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.

It is, however, clarified that the aforesaid order shall not be taken to be any expression as regards the alleged relationship of the petitioners and shall not confer any immunity upon the petitioners, in case it is found that they have committed any wrong.
