[1] Due to COVID-19 situation, the Court is convened through video conference.

[2] This petition was filed for issuance of directions to the official respondents for protection of life and liberty of the petitioners from the private respondents arrayed in the petition. [3] As per the pleadings, the petitioners had performed marriage against the wishes of their parents and there was a threat perception.

[4] On 25th August, 2021, following order was passed:- "The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation. Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 3 only at this stage.

In the meantime, the police officials not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police should record the statements of the petitioners. In case a request is made by the petitioners, they may be provided shelter in safe house till the next date."

[5] Learned State counsel has sent statements of petitioners and father of petitioner No. 2 recorded by Deputy Superintendent of Police, City Pathankot. It is stated therein that father of petitioner No.2 has no objection to the marriage solemnized and there is no threat perception.

[6] In view of above, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that there is no threat perception.

[7] The petition is disposed of as infructuous.
