The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of anticipatory bail in respect of a case registered vide FIR No.249 dated 28.8.2020 at Police Station Dinanagar, District Gurdaspur under Section 61 of Punjab Excise Act, 1914 wherein the allegations are mainly to the effect that 33 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from him.

Pursuant to interim directions, the petitioner is stated to have joined investigation.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that the petitioner has joined investigation, his custodial interrogation is not warranted.
