ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petitioner herein, inter alia, seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents to look into his pending representation with prayer to consider his application seeking allotment of ration depot filed under National Food SecurityAct 2013 and Punjab Targeted Public Distribution System Licensing and Control Order, 2016. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner submitted a representation dated 04.09.2020 (Annexure P-3) qua mitigation of his grievance against Panchayat Secretary of his Village before respondent No.2 but the same is not being looked into. Hence, the writ petition. 3.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Vikas Mohan Gupta, Additional A.G., Punjab who has joined proceedings on service of advance copy of the petition appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State of Punjab. He submits that, to the extent, the grievance of the petitioner, that Panchayat Secretary has not made

the requisite announcement for allotment of the Depot by Food Corporation of India, the same pertains to Department of Rural Development and Panchayats. 5.

Given the nature of order being passed, there is no necessity to seek return by any of the respondents as no further proceedings and/or pleadings are required.

In view of the aforesaid statement of learned State counsel, respondent No.2-Deputy Commissioner shall look into the representation dated 04.09.2020 (Annexure P-3) submitted by the petitioner. In case he feels that grievance is genuine and he shall forward compliant/representation P/3 to the competent authority in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat, State of Punjab for further appropriate action. Needles to say, if found frivolous, the representation may be filed.

Let the needful be done within a period of three weeks from today.

Petition stands disposed of in above terms.
