Mr.Harkesh Manuja,Addl.AG Punjab for respondents Jaswant Singh,J(Oral) Petitioner is working as a Constable in the Police Department. He was deputed for two months way back in July/August 2013 to the office of Excise and Taxation, Jalandhar to man a barrier. At the time of hearing grievance was restricted to the release of salary for two months by the office of Excise and Taxation Department. Learned State counsel on instructions from ETO Pawan Kumar, Mobile Wing,Jalandhar states that the due salary was deposited with the Bank, however, account number was inadvertently not correctly stated. The said amount stands deposited in the sundry account of the Branch of the bank concerned. He,however, undertakes to get the due salary released within three weeks from today.
Learned counsel for the petitioner in the light of stand of respondents states that nothing more is to be adjudicated, however, for the harassment caused to the petitioner, the prayer is for award of appropriate costs.

CWP 12378/2016 In view of the above, present petition is disposed of as infructuous. The Excise and Taxation Officer concerned shall ensure the release of salary of the petitioner for the aforesaid two months within three weeks from today failing which the petitioner would be entitled to award of 12% interest on the outstanding amount to be realised from the officer concerned.
