Petitioner Harinder Singh, working as Gram Sewak in the department of Rural Development and Panchayats has approached this Court by way of filing the instant Civil Writ Petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India against respondents i.e. State of Punjab through Secretary to Government of Punjab, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, The Director-cum-Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Mohali, District Development Panchayat Officers, Block Development Panchayat Officer, Dhuri and Superintendent, Panchayat Samiti, Dhuri for issuance of a writ, orders in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned order dated 31.8.
2020 passed by The Director-cum-Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Mohali, vide which he has been transferred from Block Dhuri, District Sangrur to Ropar. The impugned transfer order has been challenged on various grounds and one of the reason given is that petitioner is going to retire very shortly i.e. on 28.2.2021 and in case the transfer order is kept as such then he would be put to great inconvenience.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner shall be satisfied in case a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner within a fixed time frame. Learned State counsel states that respondents would comply with any such direction issued by this Court. Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 15.9.2020 according to law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Since the petitioner is stated to be retiring on 28.2.2021, for the said reason his request be considered sympathetically by the respondents.
