Mr. Atinder Pal Singh Jaurkian, AAG, Punjab ******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Reply by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division, Banga filed by learned State counsel is taken on record. As per reply, the fact of marriage of son of petitioner on 11.12.2017 has been verified.

The petitioner was convicted in a case bearing FIR No. 54 dated 25.05.2015, registered at Police Station Sadar, Banga for offence punishable under Section 22 of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and was awarded rigorous imprisonment for ten years and to pay fine of `1 lac.

As per provisions of Section 3 of the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 1962, petitioner is entitled to temporary release for the marriage of her son for a period of six weeks. Consequently, the instant petition is allowed and Jail Authorities are directed to allow temporary parole to petitioner for the period as mentioned in Section 3 of the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, on her Jitender Kumar 2017.12.04 17:07 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CHANDIGARH
