JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) By filing the present writ petition, the petitioner has impugned transfer order dated 17.6.2016 (P.2) whereby he has been transferred from Faridkot to Baghapurana. It is stated that the petitioner belongs to provincial cadre and is working as Inspector with the Municipal Council, Faridkot-respondent No.3 since 19.1.2016. He is due to retire on 31.3.2017.

This Court on 22.6.2016 while issuing notice of motion had stayed the impugned order.

In the short reply by way of affidavit dated 26.8.2016 of Ms. Poonam Bhatnagar, Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Faridkot filed on behalf of respondent No.3, it is stated that the transfer of the petitioner from Faridkot to Baghapurana has since
