-- BY POST Status report by way of affidavit of Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar (Rural) filed in which it is contended that as per report received from DSP Sub-Division Baba Bakala Sahib, F.I.R. No. 129 dated 8.12.2017 under Section 18 of the NDPS Act, 1985 Police Station Kathunangal, District Amritsar (Rural) was registered against the alleged detenue Randhir Singh @ Dhiri son of Dharam Singh resident of Village Pheruman, PS Khilchain, District Amritsar (Rural) and 255 Grams of opium was recovered from his possession by the police on 8.12.2017. He was accordingly arrested in this case and then produced in the Court and was remanded to judicial custody. Randhir Singh @ Dhiri has been granted regular bail by Additional Sessions Judge, Amritsar vide order dated 16.1.2018.

Though the case is being investigated, the allegations levelled regarding police raiding the house of petitioner Surjit Kaur on 7.12.2017 at about 8.00 P.M. and taking away Randhir Singh @ Dhiri are denied. In view of the contents of reply, no further action in the matter is called for. However, petitioner, if still feeling aggrieved can take recourse to the remedy available under the law. The petition stands disposed of.
