JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (ORAL ) The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents for protecting the life and liberty of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is a girl aged 26 years who is in live-in-relationship with one boy by the name of Ravi Kumar son of Mishra Ram and is living with him. married somewhere else but since the petitioner is an adult of the age of 26 years, she has a right to live at any place and marry the person of her choice, however, there is an imminent threat to the petitioner at the hands of private respondents.

Notice of motion to respondent Nos.1 to 3 only. Mr.Randhir Singh Thind, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the aforesaid respondents.

The petitioner has filed representation vide Annexure P-2 to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, seeking protection of life and liberty from the family members of the petitioner. In view of the facts and circumstances of the present case, this petition is disposed of with a direction that respondent No.2 - the Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, shall look into the representations Anexures P-2 filed by the petitioner and in case it is so required to take further appropriate action in accordance with law to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioner.
