Harsimran Singh Sethi, J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking direction to the police to register an FIR against respondent No.5 under Sections 501,503,506,507 and 509 of IPC as well as Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 for blackmailing and defaming the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that though, the grievance, which has been raised by the petitioner in the present petition, has already been brought to the notice of the police authorities more than once but, no action is being taken by them so far despite the fact that as per the allegations alleged by the petitioner against respondent No.5, a cognizable offence is made out.

CRM-M-29784 of 2020 -2submitted a representation dated 27.08.2020 (Annexure P/3) to the respondent No.2, which is still pending consideration with them and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide the said representation. Notice of motion.
Mr. Sandeep Singh Deol, DAG, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State. Learned State counsel submits that the respondents have no objection in deciding the representation dated 27.08.2020 (Annexure P/3) in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order. In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, the respondent No.2 is directed to decide representation dated 27.08.2020 (Annexure P/3) by passing a speaking order within a period of eight weeks from today. In case after the decision, it is found that the action is required to be taken, the same will also be taken at the earliest. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
