Present:

Mr. O.P. Kamboj, Advocate for the petitioner. HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J Prayer is for directions to respondent Nos.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent Nos.4 to 10. It is stated that the petitioner is major. Her date of birth as per her Aadhar Card (P.1) is 20.7.1997. After dropping out of the School the parents of the petitioner got her employed as domestic servant in someone's house at Thakral Villa in Jalalabad City. She was paid Rs.8000/- per month as salary apart from food, clothes and accommodation. Her parents used to force her to pay them Rs.7000/-. On attaining majority, the petitioner is stated to have started saving for herself since she intended to marry a boy of her own choice. Because of which her parents (respondent Nos.

4 & 5) became annoyed and threatened the petitioner that they would get her married to an old man. They would also make her leave her job. On 01.06.2019, respondent No.3-SHO of P.S Amir Khas along with the private respondents came to the house of her employer and beat her. Again on 12.6.2019, respondent Nos.4 to 10 came to the house of her employer and tried to forcibly take her away. She managed to escape by locking herself in MANOJ KUMAR 2019.06.

CWP No.17221 of 2019 #2# the house. It is stated that the petitioner is under constant threat at the hands of respondent Nos.4 & 5 who are hellbent on getting her married against her wishes. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted representation (P.2) to respondent No.2-Sr. Superintendent of Police, District Fazilka but no action thereon has been taken.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case or opining on the veracity of the allegations contained in the representation, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the grievance of the petitioner, as raised by her in the representation dated 14.06.2019 (P.2) and take appropriate action, as may be warranted under law.
