(Oral) (1) The petitioner claims that his name in the Matriculation certificate and Driving Licence etc. is Ranjit Singh s/o Balkar Singh but in the Voter Identity Card and Voter-List, his name is shown as Gurmeet Singh s/o Balkar. It is stated that the petitioner has applied for correction of his name in the Voter-Card as well as in the Voter-List to the District Election Officer, Sirsa but the decision thereupon is still awaited.

(2) Though we are not inclined to entertain the writ petition in which the petitioner, in a way, seeks a direction to treat Ranjit Singh s/o Balkar Singh for the purpose of eligibility though his name in the Voter-List is recorded as Gurmeet Singh s/o Balkar, however, if any, application-cum-representation is pending, let the same be processed and decided in accordance with law at the earliest. (3) Disposed of.
