Present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India, for issuance of a writ, order or direction to the learned Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Hoshiarpur (respondent No.2) to decide the parole case of the petitioner expeditiously. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that application seeking parole of petitioner is pending for the last more than 2 1⁄2 months and till date, no decision has been taken thereupon by respondent No.2. Learned counsel requested that respondent No.2 be directed to decide the aforesaid application seeking parole of the petitioner in a time bound manner. 3.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Anup Singh, AAG, Punjab, accepted notice on behalf of the respondent-State and submitted that the reason for delay in the present matter is that the report, which was sought from Senior Superintendent of Police, has not been received by respondent No.2.

Taking into consideration the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, District Hoshiarpur, to consider and decide the application seeking parole of the petitioner in accordance with law expeditiously and preferrably within a period of 3 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
