The petitioner prays for grant of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 73, dated 19.05.2020, registered under Section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, at Police Station Chattiwind, Amritsar.

As per the case of the prosecution, 20 bottles of illicitly distilled liquor was recovered on search of the house of the petitioner. The petitioner also does not have clean antecedents. He is involved in four other cases under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner has been falsely implicated and the FIR was registered on the basis of secret information.

This Court has considered the submissions of learned counsel for the petitioner.

Criminal Misc. No. M- 29767of 2020 Keeping in view the fact that recently 125 lives were lost in State of Punjab due to consumption of illicit liquor, this Court is not inclined to grant the concession of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner. Hence, the present petition is dismissed.
