(ORAL) Prayer in the present petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing the respondents No.2 and 3 to provide police protection to the petitioners and also to direct respondents No.4 to 9 not to interfere in the married life of the petitioners.

Learned State counsel has submitted that the present petition has been rendered infructuous in view of the statement made by petitioner No.1 (Raj Rani) which is attached with the status report as Annexure R-8 (Vernacular), wherein she stated that on 05.06.2023, she with my own free will got married with Gagandeep s/o Dilbag Singh resident of Nandgarh in Ancient Pashupati Nath Shiv Mandir, Panchkula, Sector-4 according to Hindu Rites and ceremonies and received marriage Certificate. Due to danger of their lives from her family members, they have filed protection petition in the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh for protection of life and liberty. Now there is no danger to their lives and now there is no requirement of any police protection. It is stated that she wants to live with her husband and also want to go to her matrimonial house in Village Nandgarh.

In view of the above submission made by learned State counsel, the present petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous, however, in case the petitioners still apprehend any threat to their life and liberty, they shall have the liberty to revive this petition. 30.06.2023 (HARSH BUNGER) Himani JUDGE
