The petitioner has invoked the jurisdiction of this Court under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of an appropriate writ, order/directions to the official respondents, especially, in the nature of mandamus to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from private respondents No.4 to 7.
It is submitted that petitioner is minor and she had filed the present petition though Teja Ram, who is relative of her cousin. It is submitted by the petitioner that the private respondents, who are parents and uncles of the petitioner, have sold her to an aged man and her marriage was fixed for 25.05.2024. CRWP-5307-2024 -2whereof, the petitioner, on 12.05.2024, had come to the house of her cousin. Now, the petitioner apprehends threat at the instance of her family members, who are the private respondents. Also, it is submitted that she had made a representation to the police, copy whereof is Annexure P-2, which is still pending.

Ms.Dimple Jain, Deputy Advocate General, Haryana, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and assures about the decision on the representation, within a period of seven days from today onwards.
In view of the assurance given by learned State counsel, the present petition is disposed of, with the observations that concerned Superintendent of Police, shall consider the representation (Annexure P-2) within a period of seven days and initiate appropriate action, if so called for.
