**** AJAY KUMAR MITTAL, J. (Oral) The petitioner, who is confined at Central Jail, Ferozepur, has approached this Court by filing the present petition, inter alia, seeking direction to the respondents to grant the parole for four weeks under Section 3(1)(a) of the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners Temporary Release Act, 1962 (in short 'the Act'), for all customs after the death of mother of the petitioner.

It has been pleaded in the petition that the petitioner was granted parole on 02nd March, 2017 to 14th April, 2017. On 22nd March, 2017, the mother of the petitioner 'Nasib Kaur' had expired and the last rites were to be performed on 14th April, 2017, the day on which he had to surrender.

The petitioner has filed the present petition on 15th May, 2017 i.e. after the expiry of last rites. Therefore, no ground for grant of parole at this stage is made out.
