Sarla v. Sandeep
Civil Revision No. 1733 of 2021
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH Civil Revision No. 1733 of 2021 DATE OF DECISION :- August 31, 2021 Sarla
...Petitioner
Versus
Sandeep
...Respondent
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE H.S. MADAAN Present:- Ms. Ankita Malhotra, Advocate for the petitioner. *** The case has been taken up through Video Conferencing. The grouse of revisionist Sarla is that her application under Section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act filed on 8.3.2019 seeking maintenance pendente lite and litigation expenses in divorce petition brought by her husband Sandeep is pending since long and has not been disposed of so far. She craves for issuance of direction to Principal District Judge, Family Court, Hisar for prompt disposal of the said application. Of course, expeditious disposal of a case is right of every litigant. It is very strange that the application for maintenance pendente lite and litigation expenses filed on 8.3.2019 has not been adjudicated upon so far despite passage of about 21⁄2 years.
Though the functioning of the Courts was adversely affected on account of unprecedented situation arising out of breaking out of Covid-19 pandemic but even then in such type of matters earnest efforts should be made for early disposal of the application. Keeping in view the nature of the case, I do not feel necessity of issuing notice of the PARVINDER SINGH 2021.08.
Civil Revision No. 1733 of 2021 revision petition to respondent Sandeep.
Accordingly, the revision petition is disposed of directing Principal District Judge, Family Court, Hisar to decide application under Section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act filed by revisionist Sarla against her husband Sandeep expeditiously within two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order in the said Court.
