AT CHANDIGARH CWP-13936-2025 Date of decision: 16.05.2025 M/s Urban Transport Registered
...Petitioner
Versus
State of Punjab and others
...Respondents
CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AMAN CHAUDHARY ***** Present :
Mr. Rohit Kapoor, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Swapan Shorey, DAG, Punjab.
***** AMAN CHAUDHARY, J. (Oral) 1.
Prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondent No.3 to frame and approve the joint time-table to regular stage carriage services on the route Amritsar to Khalra via Chabhal. 2.
Learned counsel would contend that regarding the claim raised in the present petition, a legal notice dated 06.03.2025, Annexure P-7, has been served upon respondent Nos.3 and 4, which has yet not evoked any response. He, on instructions, prays that a direction may be given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner, to which learned State counsel has no objection.
3.
In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos.3 and 4 to decide the legal notice dated 06.03.2025, Annexure P-7, within a period of 8 weeks, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to him and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to his interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioner shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon.
