IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA

AT CHANDIGARH CRR-461-2018 (O&M) Date of decision : 18.07.2023 Gurpreet Singh ....Petitioner

Versus

Sarabjit Singh

...Respondent

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE PANKAJ JAIN Present :

Mr. Amanpreet (A.P) Singh, Advocate (Legal Aid Counsel) for the petitioner.

Mr. Nirmaljeet Singh Sidhu, Advocate for the respondent. PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) Counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the fact that the petitioner has already undergone the sentence awarded, the present revision petition has been rendered infructuous. The matter pertains to dishonour of the cheque and the conviction of the petitioner for offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. A bare perusal of the order of sentence would reveal that no compensation was awarded. Apart from that no effort was made by the complainant to appeal against the said order. In view of above, nothing survives at the hands of this Court for adjudication in the present revision petition. Consequently, the revision petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous.
