(Oral) The present petition has been filed for seeking directions to respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members from the hands of private respondents No.4 to 18, who being from political/criminal background are harassing and threatening the petitioner and his family.

After arguing the matter at some length, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner seeks withdrawal of the present petition with liberty to avail alternative remedies as are available to the petitioner in accordance with law.

In view of the above, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty as aforesaid.
