Petitioners are the former Sarpanches, Panch and present Panches of the Gram Panchayat of village Baragarh, Tehsil Naraingarh, District Ambala. It appears that Gram Panchayat of their village filed eviction petitions under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961, as applicable to State of Haryana (for brevity, 'the 1961 Act'), against the private respondents and those proceedings were initially adjourned sine die to await the outcome of the title dispute. Thereafter the Gram Panchayat applied for revival of those cases and against the order of revival, the private respondents have filed appeal/revision Meenu 2017.08.22 13:16 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document chandigarh petitions before the Commissioner, Ambala Division, Ambala-respondent

CWP-13387-2016 -2No.2. The appeals/revision petitions arising out of the title dispute under Section 13A of the 1961 Act are also pending before the same Authority. The short relief sought in this writ petition is to direct the said Authority to decide those appeals/revision petitions in a time-bound manner. [2] Heard learned counsel for the parties.

[3] Keeping in view the fact that the appeals/revision petitions are pending for the last more than two years, we deem it appropriate to dispose of this writ petition with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the cases, whether appeal or revision, in which Gram Panchayat of village Baragarh is a party, expeditiously and preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. [4] Disposed of.
