**** RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J. (Oral) Petitioner has preferred this writ petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to make payment of almost Rs.9 lacs to the petitioner along with interest.
Petitioner claims himself to be a government contractor. Work of P/F interlocking tiles in Guru Ram Dass Nagar, Gali no.1, 2 Zira Road, Kot Isse Khan was allocated to the petitioner vide work order no.47 dated 10.12.2021. Petitioner has already completed the work to the entire satisfaction of the competent authority. The work has already been approved and sanctioned by the competent authority. Bills have not been released to the petitioner so far, despite number JYOTI SHARMA 2022.07.27 17:20 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
CWP No. 15916 of 2022 -2of representations. The payment has not been made to the petitioner for want of funds available with the department. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that at this stage, the petitioner would be satisfied in case its representation is directed to be decided by respondent No.2 by passing a speaking order in accordance with law at the earliest. Notice of motion.
On the asking of the Court, Ms. Aakanksha, A.A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. This writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider the pending representation dated 15.03.2022 got issued by the petitioner and pass appropriate order in accordance with law, preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. If the claim of the petitioner is established with reference to record, then the payment be released to the petitioner forthwith.
If the claim of the petitioner is found to be not sustainable, then a copy of decision be supplied to the petitioner at the earliest.
