JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (ORAL ) The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a direction to respondent Nos.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that petitioner Nos.1 and 2 are husband and wife and petitioner No.3 is their daughter and they are peace loving citizens. CRWP-8408-2021 (O&M) FIR was lodged against the son of the petitioner Nos.1 and 2, but since he could not be traced, the police has been repeatedly calling the petitioners to the Police Station to know the whereabouts of the son of petitioner Nos.1 and 2 and the petitioners are being unnecessarily harassed. He has further submitted that representations (Annexures P-3 and P-5) in this regard were also given to the Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh as well as to the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, respectively but no action has been taken.

On the other hand, learned State counsel, on instructions from SI Rachpal Kaur, has categorically submitted that petitioners were never harassed by the police authorities and in future also, they will not be called in the police station because they are not required in the offence in which their son is involved.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that he is satisfied with the statement made by the learned State counsel and therefore, he does not wish to press the present petition at this stage and he may be permitted to withdraw the same at this stage. In view of above, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
