G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) Challenge in the present writ petition is to the renewal of service contract uptill 15.07.2014 vide order dated 07.07.2014 (Annexure P5). The reason behind the same was that the petitioner had attained the age of 65 years.

The respondent-authority has admittedly taken a policy decision that the retired employees beyond the age of 65 years are not to be retained. The petitioner had been appointed on contract basis on 01.09.2008 for initial period of one year, which had been renewed. His services have been dispensed with on attaining the age of 65 years. The matter is purely contractual and the petitioner has no vested right to claim extension. The petition is accordingly dismissed.
