(Oral) Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, this Court finds that the matter basically arises out of some kind of matrimonial discord between son of the petitioners and his wife i.e. respondent No.6. The petitioners seek issuance of directions to official respondents for conducting a fair and impartial inquiry by some senior officer of the police in their complaint/representation (Annexure P-10) wherein it is alleged that respondent No.6 and her father are harassing the petitioners.

Having regard to the nature of allegations and the fact that it is apparently a case of matrimonial discord, the matter is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, District Ludhiana, to ensure that any application filed by the petitioners or by respondents No.6 and 7 shall be considered and disposed of in accordance with law. It is MOHAN SINGH 2021.08.

- 2 - CRM-M-35517-2021 (O&M) further directed that in view of the fact that it is mainly a matrimonial dispute, the possibility of some amicable settlement be also probed. In case deemed appropriate, matter may be referred to Mediation and Conciliation Centre, Ludhiana. Keeping in view the advanced stage of the petitioners, it is directed that they be not called to the police station unnecessarily and in case they are required to be associated with any inquiry, then a prior written notice be furnished to them to cause their appearance.
